Wednesday Wordplay: Lucille Ball’s 100th Birthday!
If Lucille Ball were still alive, she’d turn 100 this week. In honor of this, here’s a few of her most memorable quotes:
How was “I Love Lucy“ born? We decided that instead of divorce lawyers profiting from our mistakes, we’d profit from them.
I regret the passing of the studio system. I was very appreciative of it because I had no talent.
I’m sometimes scared of everything that has happened to us. We didn’t think Desilu Productions would grow so big. We merely wanted to be together and have two children.
Once in his life, every man is entitled to fall madly in love with a gorgeous redhead.
I’m not funny. What I am is brave.
The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.
Use a make-up table with everything close at hand and don’t rush; otherwise you’ll look like a patchwork quilt.
Amy Winehouse, RIP
As MTV.com intuitively remarked, Amy Winehouse was not so much troubled as she was haunted. She also was an amazing artistic talent, and will be greatly missed. MTV.com continues:
Because Winehouse was vexed in ways that were beyond troublesome; she was pursued by specters in life — addiction, love, even the paparazzi, against whom she obtained an anti-harassment injunction in 2009. And in death — her body was discovered Saturday in her home in London, under conditions which police are calling "unexplained" — it appears those specters finally caught up with her.
RIP Amy.

A senior yearbook quote is supposed to be inspiring, reflective, philosophical, or – at least to the person pictured – extremely “deep”. Perhaps a mantra to help them on their life journey.
But there can also be some total dorks that think of ridiculous quotes to place next to their senior picture. Here’s a few of the more ridiculous:
